  • Verify right-to-work or identity where necessary

4. Legal Basis for Processing

We rely on the following legal bases to process personal data:

  • Consent – where you have given clear consent (e.g. marketing communications).

  • Legitimate interest – such as improving our services, matching candidates with roles, and ensuring platform security.

  • Contractual necessity – processing necessary to provide our recruitment services to candidates and employers.

  • Legal obligation – where we must process data to comply with laws or regulatory requirements (for example, right-to-work checks where applicable).

Sharing with Employers

For candidates, we share relevant non-sensitive profile information (such as name, experience, skills, languages, availability, and job preferences) with employers for the purposes of assessing suitability for potential roles.

Sensitive information (such as contact details, address, or right-to-work documents) is only shared:

  • after you have confirmed interest in a specific role, or

  • where sharing is required to progress the recruitment process or comply with legal obligations.

6. International Data Transfers

Some data may be stored or processed outside the UK/EU.
Where this occurs, transfers are protected by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent safeguards to ensure your data remains protected.

7. Data Retention

  • Candidates:
Candidate profile data is retained while your account remains active and for a reasonable period afterwards, or until you request deletion, unless a longer retention period is required by law.

Identification and right-to-work documents are not stored permanently. Once your eligibility has been verified, we delete the document images and retain only a minimal record of the verification (such as document type, expiry date, verification date, and outcome). We may request updated documents if your existing identification expires, if your right-to-work status changes, or if a reasonable period has passed since the last verification.

  • Employers:
Employer data is retained until the business relationship ends or until a deletion request is received, subject to any legal retention requirements.

  • Email correspondence:
Retained while relevant to our operations or any ongoing matter, and deleted when no longer needed.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data

  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data

  • Request deletion of your data (subject to legal/contractual limits)

  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

  • Object to certain types of processing (such as direct marketing)

  • Request data portability, where applicable

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with:

  • The UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), or

  • Your local supervisory authority in the EU/EEA

We encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve any concerns directly.
